Location: Bilborough, Nottinghamshire

 

Salary: Competitive  (negotiable, dependent on experience),   plus stop out allowance. Over time paid at time and a half.  Travel between factory and site is paid both ways

 

Job type: Full time, Permanent (Minimum 40 hours per week)

 

Holidays: 28 days including statutory Bank Holidays, increasing over time to a maximum of 33

Due to forthcoming workload we are looking to recruit an experienced skilled Site Installer with a fabrication background that has flexibility to work nationwide.

 

The Role

JSM Engineering Ltd is  a busy, successful   specialist subcontractor supplying the construction sector across the UK.  With over 40 years experience the company has a solid reputation in the design, fabrication and installation of  bespoke architectural metalwork. It’s product range includes Staircases, Balustrades, Handrails, Balconies, Platforms, Walkways and Canopies.

 

The position requires a high standard of workmanship, working to tight deadlines and the flexibility to work away from home during the week.

 

The position may suit candidates with previous background as bench hand fitter , joiner , steel fixer, curtain wall / cladding fixer , shop fitter , window fitter.

 

Job Duties

• Work as part of a small team to install architectural metalwork products

• Conform to all the latest health & safety & employment legislation, you will act responsibly and safely at all times to promote a positive safety culture

• Read and understand the contents of relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work

• Careful and concise work. Taking pride in accuracy and attention to detail

• Ensuring all work is completed in line with approved drawings and specifications and meeting or exceeding the customers quality expectations

• Problem solving /working using own initiative

• To undertake any reasonable tasks requested by your supervisor/company management

 

Key Requirements

Knowledge

• Able to work from and to read/understand engineering drawings.

• Installation – setting out using drawings and datum

 

Qualifications

Required

• Current CSCS card (minimum level Blue) and a relevant trade related NVQ 2 or above

• Current Full Driving license.

 

Advantageous to have but training can be provided

• SSSTS

• Trade accredited certification  ie PASMA, IPAF

• Welding - MMA and TIG.

• First Aid/ Fire Marshall  certificates

 

Work Skills/Experience

• Previous experience in installation balconies, balustrades and stairs.

• Experience  of welding/fabricating mild steel and stainless steel for architectural fabrications such as balustrades, balconies and hand rails.

 

Attributes

• Adaptable and willing to encompass all aspects of the trade as required

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• A significant level of fitness as this can be a demanding role

• Able to work at height

• Be prepared to work away on various sites nationwide.

• Have high standards and be a conscientious, enthusiastic, driven  team player
