Rochdale Municipal Offices

This institutional building for Rochdale Borough Council comprises both front of house feature items and also functional service applications. Particular highlights included in the architectural metalwork package were cantilevered, timber clad staircase and the many metres of structural glass balustrades to the open walkway areas.
This stair consisted of a mild steel carcass that was then fully cladded with timber. This, along with the cantilever design, elevates this stair into a stunning architectural feature.
We installed many metres of this type of glass balustrade to various levels of the building. Certain areas are curved which required precision levels of surveying and design.
This image shows the large amount of glass balustrades that we installed. The circular stainless steel handrail is fixed to the top of the glass panels and provides a sleek, smart finish.
